*Human Psyche and"The Salman Khan Syndrome"*

Its not a Salman khan specific issue. what I am trying to point out is the contradictory irrational behaviour of human beings, even the educated and well-informed ones.We tend to ignore the obvious glaring fallacies and are happy comforting ourselves in a cozy dreamy corner with illusionary extrapolations!!!!Such behavioural tendency in us is age-old,may be from the very beginning of human existence.Man has always been mesmerized and blinded with glittering wealth and its pompous glamour. But with the advent of Market dominance in Socio-cultural space, good virtues are fading into oblivion; being cornered aside by market-certified TRP-rated truth and virtues of life.

Efforts of Aruna Roy, Irom Chanu Sharmila , Mahashweta Devi ,Rajendra Singh and Deep Joshi do not enthuse people to emulate them so much as is the case with persona of Sanjay Dutt, Bipasa Basu and Mahendra s. dhoni !!! The basic edifice of our moral social character is getting distorted and a sad example is this bitter truth--Any aspiring youth will to go for career in teaching as a last option !!!!

Fake 'Swayambar' of Rakhi Sawant attracts so much public and media attention but death of Gangubai Hangal, a legendary classical singer, creates only transient whimper in our audio-viual and print kingdom!!!!!! Sachin Tendulkar and Akshay Kumar is blessed with fame, wealth, respect and fan-following more as compared to sharad joshi and Binayak Sen.All of them are from same generations but people like Joshi , sen ,or chanu do not fit in the right frame of market-determined social virtues. We need to pause and give a thought to the modernising shift in our priorities, values and virtues before its too late !!!!

  1. Very true, when we see people in such glamour n with money showering on them from all corners it becomes difficult to visualise others at our ideals...I think its time to give some name and fame to people of high moral values and good virtues atleast for the sake of our younger generations...
